Personality	STANDOFFISH Emmerich is not a man who trusts easily, and he wishes he were better at keeping people at arm’s length. Truth be told, he hates being alone and revels at any sign of kindness from another human being. He doesn’t deserve it, of course, so he tries his best to calm off as standoffish and unfriendly. Generally he presents himself as a surly old bastard – which isn’t much of a stretch – with little patience for rambunctious teenagers and over-eager rookies. He despises acts of insolence, especially towards authority figures. He doesn’t smile easily and a laugh is even less likely, but he’ll still be present at every town-wide event, willing , at least, to watch the festivities from the sidelines. PERFECTIONIST Methodical to the point of being overcautious, Emmerich is calm and careful, taking his time deciding how to attack any particular problem. He hates making mistakes. Best to take your time doing something correct the first time, then doing the same project over and over again. His natural love creating something out of nothing and working with his hands means he’s become a very adept carpenter. The things he builds last lifetimes. SELF-LOATHING There are a lot of things Emmerich has done in his life that he regrets, the biggest of which is being himself. He has a great deal of vices and, to a man who borders on perfectionism, these faults aren’t things he can forgive. He can be somewhat careless with his own well-being because of this, but would never, ever be reckless enough to put his friends, his allies, or his loved-ones in danger because of it. His self-loathing is both the cause of his excessive smoking and the reason he never, ever partakes in alcohol. STUBBORN & STEADFAST Rather set in his ways, Emmerich likes things exactly the way they are: nice, neat, and orderly. Heaven forbid if someone stirred up a little chaos on his life. He is an exceptionally stubborn man, and will work himself to the brink of exhaustion rather than admit defeat or rely on someone else. His unwillingness to accept help increases tenfold when he’s sick or injured. It’s a real wonder the man hasn’t gotten himself killed yet. But his steadfastness gives him a sense of honor and duty;l work until the job is done, no matter what that job might be. He doesn’t leave things half finished, and he puts his all into everything that he does. Emmerich can be a highly passionate individual, when something strikes his fancy. LOYAL & SELF-SACRIFICING While he does not make friends easily, once Emmerich has given his loyalty to someone he is a friend and ally for life. He will never turn his back on someone he trusts and appreciates. He does not ‘skimp out’ when favors are needed and hard work must be done. He will be at your side, thick or thin, until he’s no longer needed. He is a fiercely protective man and has no qualms with exacting revenge against those who harm his family and friends. For those few who are true impacts on his life, Emmerich would do everything in his power to keep content and safe, including risking his own life for their well-being.
